TikTok Shop Malaysia sellers should prepare for two separate cost changes in October 2026: the end of a limited-time Standard shipping-fee promotion and a higher Transaction Fee for PayLater or BNPL orders.
Two dates sellers need to know
- 12 October 2026, 10:00 AM: the Standard shipping-fee promotion ends and applicable charges revert to the Standard rate card.
- 16 October 2026, 12:00 AM: the Transaction Fee for TikTok PayLater or other BNPL orders becomes 4.86%, inclusive of SST. Other payment methods remain at 3.78%.

What happens to shipping fees?
The actual impact may depend on packed weight and dimensions, destination, logistics provider, platform discounts, customer-paid shipping, campaign arrangements, and forward or return fees. Download the latest rate card in Seller Center and compare representative West and East Malaysia orders.
How the PayLater fee is calculated

(Original item price − Seller discount + customer-paid shipping fee) × fee rate
Platform-funded discounts do not reduce the calculation base. A RM100 base produces about RM4.86 instead of RM3.78—an increase of RM1.08. Confirm deductions against settlement statements.

Not every order becomes 4.86% more expensive
The 4.86% rate applies only to the Transaction Fee for applicable PayLater or BNPL orders. It is not a general increase to every product, payment method, commission, shipping charge, advertisement or affiliate fee.
Seven actions sellers should take
- Review the latest Standard shipping rate card.
- Measure the PayLater share of successful orders.
- Recalculate margin after product, packaging, commission, transaction, campaign, advertising, shipping and return costs.
- Avoid a blanket 4.86% price increase; use the actual payment mix.
- Standardise packed weight and dimensions by SKU.
- Check representative settlements after both effective dates.
- Monitor Seller Center during 10.10, 11.11 and 12.12.
Should sellers remove PayLater?
Not automatically. PayLater may support larger purchases and conversion. Compare order share, average order value, margin, cancellations, returns and the added fee before changing prices, bundles or minimum-order values.
Where packaging fits
Oversized packaging can increase logistics cost, while weak packaging can cause damage and returns.
